Distributors for THRASHER Turbo Regal (Grand National - T
Type) Chips
There are NO Recommended Distributors
Due to recent complaints, THRASHER has ceased to recommend any distributors
for THRASHER chips.
Please note that Thrasher Engineered
Performance is NOT responsible for any transactions you make with any
distributors, recommended or otherwise. We have no control over their
pricing for their services, we do not even know their pricing
structure, and do not in any way receive any
compensation from them. Any transactions you make with
the party burning you a chip is solely between you and that party, and
does
not involve TEP at all, and TEP does not receive any compensation of any
kind from that transaction. Thus, TEP offers NO SUPPORT for products purchased
from distributors for this reason.
THRASHER has NEVER sold a Turbo Regal chip directly to a customer.
THRASHER conducted business with a sole authorized distributor in the early
to mid 90's. THRASHER produced their last chip for this distributor
sometime in 1996, and has not sold or made any since. At that time,
THRASHER allowed anyone who had a copy of the chip or the chip files to make
and distribute these chips as there is no reasonable way to prevent chips
from being copied.
If you have purchased a THRASHER chip after 1996, we ABSOLUTELY did not have
anything to do with it (except that it is a copy of something we once did!)
and in no way received any compensation from
what you paid for it. Please DO NOT CALL us if you have any complaints
or problems. Although we still feel that THRASHER chips are absolutely
the best thing the Turbo Regal engine has seen since race gas, we cannot
offer any support for problems you are having since we are not involved at
all. As mentioned below, no one fully understands the THRASHER code
and if there was any attempt to modify the chip from our work, there will be
problems.

Currently there have only been Thrasher chips developed for stock injectors,
30lb green stripes, and blue top injectors. Some experimental red stripe
and 009 chips are floating around but these should not be considered usable.
No development has been done on 868, 50lb or larger injectors to date.
If you wish to distribute chips for these applications contact us
maybe we can persuade our Turbo Buick engineer to do this development work. |
Warning: TEP has no control over chips being sold under the Thrasher
name by distributors, recommended or not. We can only guarantee the integrity
of binary files we send out ourselves. We understand there may be chips sold
as Thrashers that have been modified by the seller, and
these may cause erratic operation.
Thrasher chips have been developed with anti-tamper code that will cause erratic operation when modified.
This was done for our protection to prevent people from essentially
stealing our code by obtaining a copy of our chip and start modifying it
on their own to sell. Additionally, the fueling, spark, and boost
algorithms have been extensively modified, so even if someone thinks they've
found the typical tables they don't function the same way they do in the
production software.
